MRI at Bharat Diagnostics - Bharat Diagnostics centre in Bhiwadi has installed one of the best and most advanced Open MRI machine from Hitachi, Japan, with dedicated coils for different body parts. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to form pictures of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body in both health and disease. MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields, magnetic field gradients and radio waves to generate images of the organs in the body.
The MRI machine at Bharat Diagnostics is the first machine in Bhiwadi which uses the parmanent magnet technology to study the different joints and parts of the body like Brain, Neck, Spine, Shoulder, Abdomen and Pelvis, Hip , Ankle , Elbow, Wrist and Knee joints. Now some of the rare MRI studies are also available in Bhiwadi like MRI Spectroscopy and MRI Angiographies for which earlier patients had to travel to Gurgaon.
MRI Scanning can be done as plain study or contrast study. The contrast used in MRI is Gadolinium. Following MRI Scans can be done at Bhiwadi as both plain and Contrast :
MRI is the gold standard of imaging for Brain, Joints and Spine and gives superior information than CT Scan. Another advantage of MRI over CT Scan is that there is no radiation involved and therefore MRI is safe even for pregnant women and children. Ligament injuries in the joints are much better visualized on MRI Scanning. Similarly the disc in the spine is better visualized on MRI than X-Ray or CT Scan.
Each MRI Test takes about 15-30 minutes and some of the patients feel claustrophobic inside the MRI Machine. Bharat Diagnostics has installed an Open MRI from Hitachi, Japan in which no patient would feel claustrophobic.
The cost of plain MRI for most of the body parts is Rs. 6000 at Bhiwadi. The same MRI investigation costs Rs. 7000 - 9000 at most of the Gurgaon centres. The cost of contrast MRI would be Rs. 9000. Some of the special investigations like Angiography and Spectroscopy would cost a little extra.
